Cherry Dump Cake

Cherry Chessman Dump Cake

It’s the holidays, and everyone is short on time.  Whether you’re prepping a family meal, bringing a dish to a gathering, or just looking for something quick and delicious to satisfy your sweet tooth, this “dump cake” is a great way to get the most out of your precious minutes!

Ingredients:

2 cansCherry Pie Filling (or flavor of your choice)
1 bag

1 box

1.5 sticks

8 oz

Large bag of Chessman cookies (~24)

Yellow or Vanilla cake mix)

Butter… (makes everything good)

Plain Whipped Cream Cheese

Directions:

1.     Preheat oven to 350°F.

2.     Layer cookies in a row across a 9 x 13 baking dish.

3.     Dump 2 cans of cheery filling over the top of the cookies. Use a spatula to spread it out evenly over them.

4.     Apply dollops of the whipped cream cheese all over the filling, then carefully use a spatula to integrate the cream cheese into the pie filling.

5.     Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top, completely covering edge to edge.

6.     Slice up the butter thin, and layer evenly over the cake mix.

7.     The butter needs to melt into the entire cake mix, so if you slice the butter too think, you may need more to completely cover it.  This is fine 😊

8.     Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until set, and ENJOY!
